Description

Due to the ongoing deployment of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) non-geostationary satellite orbit (NGSO) constellations, Ofcom has a requirement for a mobile satellite monitoring solution. This will provide Ofcom with the ability to track and monitor LEO satellites operating above the United Kingdom. We will need the ability to monitor NGSO satellites operating in Ku and Ka bands and as a minimum this must be able to track satellites from 30⁰ elevation through to 30⁰ elevation on the opposite horizon (120⁰ total tracking as a minimum). The solution will need to be able to be capable of operating around 360⁰ azimuth, meaning that we can monitor NGSO satellites at any azimuth compared to the antenna system.

Total Quantity or Scope

Ofcom have the requirement for a system to monitor Ku and Ka band, primarily for the monitoring of NGSO satellite constellations, although the monitoring of other satellite systems operating in this band will also be useful. This requires the supply of all relevant hardware, software as well as support on installation and commissioning required to make the system operational
