The supplier should offer a first class, modern service to students utilising contactless payment systems, effective maintenance management and exceptional customer service. The University is seeking a seamless transition from the existing contract to the new contract. It is important that some launderettes on campus shall remain operational throughout the course of the works for use by any remaining students and conference delegates. … The supplier is to install and maintain the laundry equipment while the University will be responsible for the supply of electricity, gas, water and waste water outfall. The supplier will pay the University a monthly commission which will be a percentage of the vend income. The University currently has 78 washing machines and 80 dryers in 12 locations across the Canterbury campus to be replaced with new equipment. In addition, a new student accommodation block with a launderette will be opening on Giles Lane in September 2025 which will also need to have laundry equipment installed. The laundry equipment is currently a combination of electric and gas-fired machines and due to capacity limitations we will need to continue with this mix. The work will need to be undertaken and completed within the specified timescales – between 16/06/25 to 13/09/25: the precise dates to be agreed, ensuring all launderettes are fully operational by 18/09/25 in time for the start of the new term. The University reserves the right to increase or reduce the number of machines and /or locations during the term of this contract.
