Description

Transport for London (TfL) is conducting an early market engagement exercise to look for novel approaches/solutions to reduce fare evasion on the TfL network with solutions that minimise impact on TfL infrastructure and the TfL customer experience whilst enhancing the public perception of TfL. Interested suppliers are asked to complete a market sounding questionnaire to provide TfL with information of the interested supplier's proposed approach/solution. Within TfL, there are several initiatives currently in flight under the countering fare evasion problem statement umbrella; these include physical (gateline improvements), technology (supporting investigations), and behavioural (communications, signage) solutions. However, the component of the umbrella fare evasion problem statement that this MSQ is interested in hearing solutions to is: "How might TfL use technology and data to better understand fare evader behaviour and then drive changes in fare evader behaviour through interventions" Specifically, we would like to know if there are technologies/solutions that TfL can utilise that will - • Better detect fare evaders across our different modes (While TfL runs an integrated transport network, the design and operation of each mode on our network is unique). • Provide data and insight to support new interventions that will change the behaviour of fare evaders. • Increase the deterrent of fare evasion taking place on our network. • Drive changes in fare evader behaviour. To receive the MSQ please email MSQinnovation@tfl.gov.uk expressing your interest with the email subject heading of Fare Evasion Data MSQ Request [include your company name]. To submit your MSQ please also email MSQinnovation@tfl.gov.uk using the subject heading Fare Evasion Data MSQ Response [include your company name]. The last date that MSQ submissions shall be accepted is 16th August 2024.
